The mission of the American Heart Association is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Among the many ways the AHA fulfills their mission is through education and raising awareness about risk factors and heart healthy lifestyles. On Saturday, May 3 join in one of their popular activities, the Heart Walk. This year’s event will be held at DCR's Quinsigamond State Park, Lake Park, Worcester. It is a family friendly event, including pets! There will be a 2.5 mile and a 5 mile walk route. Grab a friend, bring the kids and meet us there. Look for the WooFood banner – we will be there to get some exercise and share some information about healthful eating when dining out at WooFood certified restaurants. Chat with us about the delicious healthful options at many local establishments and who knows, you may find yourself heading from the walk out to a WooFood certified lunch or making plans for a healthful dinner out. Registration begins at 8:30 AM and the walk starts at 9:30 AM on May 3. There are no registration fees but many walkers will have sponsors to raise funds for the American Heart Association. Hope to see you on Saturday!
